So, as I mentioned just before, this is episode 52 – and alas the end of the year.

Back in December 2018 when the idea for this podcast was born inside my little brain one day when sitting beside the pool pondering the question

“what can I do to stand out from the crowd, to education small business owners and have the biggest impact I can in 2019?”

The answer was of course the Small Business Made Simple Podcast.

On episode 1 I declared that I would commit to doing 52 of these and aha today is the day that I can tick that goal off my list.

I was done 52 podcast episodes – 1 every week for 2019.

Don’t panic, I’m not stopping now.  I’ve got a white board full of podcast ideas to take me to at least August next year!

But I guess, I just wanted to reflect on that achievement with you all.

If there’s something that you want to achieve in 2020, maybe it’s been on your list in 2019 or even earlier than that, and just hasn’t got done yet, I want to encourage you to do it.

Back in January this year, I’d never done a podcast episode. In fact, I’d never ever been on a podcast as a guest, I hadn’t even studied what it would take.

I just did it.

Mind you when I let myself take the idea seriously, I YouTubed like a crazed teenager to find out how the heck I was going to do it.

And to be honest, I will probably never listen to episode 1 – because I am afraid of what it might sound like.

I know that I edited the crap out of it and took as many breathes, ummms and you know’s out of it that I could!

It wasn’t perfect, to some it probably wasn’t even good, but it was done.

My mentor had a saying “ready, fire, aim” – yes, ready, fire, aim (not the other way around!) and would say that the world doesn’t need anybody else “aiming to do something”.

Just do it.  Work with what you have and fix it or change it or make it better as you go because if you wait for perfect, you’ll never do it.

So, on this very short and short episode 52, on boxing day 2019, I want to encourage you to

On that project that you have for 2020 or on that project that never made it to the top of the list in 2019 or even just in life itself.

Perfection is a trap and doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity!

Before I go, I would encourage you to take a listen to a couple of past episodes of this podcast, in case you haven’t managed to listen to them yet:

Episode 46 – Planning for 2020 – What’s your Word.

Episode 47 – 2020 Marketing Predictions – 6 Essential Marketing Trends for 2020 –

Episode 48 – What happened when I said yes for a year –

If you get a chance to listen to all those – then I know your mindset, heading into 2020, will be just where you need it to be to plan your best year yet.

If you want to reach out and chat to me about what 2020 might look like for you and have a FREE 30 minute zoom call – then simple go to

PS – I’ve never offered this before via my podcast – but I figure if I’m really serious about wanting you to have the best start in 2020 – then offering to have a chat is the one way I can really impact you and your business.

PPS – if you listen to episode 46 about picking a word for 2020 – you’ll quickly notice that mine is IMPACT. I want to have an impact on as many small business owners as I can …. Hopefully that’s you too!

There’s no discovery of the week today – just you and me having a chat.

That’s all for episode 52.

I’m proud of how 2019 turned out for me, and I sincerely hope you are proud of you too.

Big love my podcast family ..

I’ll be back next Thursday (arrh it’ll be 2020!) with some more marketing know-how and another discovery of course.

If you’re enjoying this podcast, don’t forget to subscribe so you never miss an episode and share this with a friend.  And maybe leave me a rating and a review wherever you listen in.  Those things are like gold for podcasters like me!  PS – you can leave more than one rating and review – just saying!

But that is all for Episode 52. I’d love to connect with you all on social – so let’s get social on social – I’m on all the platforms, so let’s do that!

…….. and remember small business peeps, as my opening song says, there’s no point in dreaming small!
